Chiropractors are medical practitioners with a unique skill set that allows us to mechanically locate joints that lack motion, not only along the spine but also any extremity i.e., wrists, elbows, ankles, shoulders, knees, hips, ribs, and even temporal mandibular joints! This lack of motion can lead to tight muscles which can cause inflammation and ultimately pain. This negative chain reaction is interrupted when we deliver our chiropractic adjustment. The specificity of our thrust imparts the joint we are contacting with more motion. This breaks the negative chain reaction leading to muscle relaxation, local reduction of inflammation, and eventually, reduced pain.
